Manchester United will be fearing for the fitness of Anthony Martial after the striker was withdrawn from their game with Everton. With his fellow strikers Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic already sidelined with injury, Martial was given the task of leading the line at Goodison Park. The Frenchman did a brilliant job, scoring the opening goal with a curled effort from the edge of the box as Manchester United won 2-0.
However Martial’s afternoon ended badly. He hurt his arm late in the game and appeared to be struggling with it on the pitch. The 22-year-old was replaced a few minutes later, with Daley Blind coming on in his place in the 87th minute. Worryingly for Manchester United, as Martial stood on the sidelines he was spotted holding his arm.
Manchester United are back in action again on Friday when they take on Derby County in the FA Cup.
