Sanchez Agrees Contract Terms With Manchester United

Alexis Sanchez has agreed contract terms with Manchester United, according to reports. The Chilean was left out of Arsenal‘s matchday squad for the 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, while Arsene Wenger confirmed that the forward’s departure is ‘imminent’. Manchester City had been expected to conclude a deal for Sanchez this month after Arsenal pulled the plug on their £60million transfer in the closing stages of the summer window. But it’s United who are now favourites to land the 29-year-old after beating the Premier League leaders with their offer.

United are willing to make Sanchez the highest-paid player in the Premier League by some distance with a £400,000-a-week contract. Mourinho’s side are also ready to pay £30m to Arsenal, which is only £5m below the Gunners’ asking price. And according to Gianluca Di Marzio, United have reached an agreement with Sanchez and his representatives.

City, meanwhile, have fallen well short of Arsenal’s £35m valuation with a £20m bid and are unwilling to increase their salary offer to Sanchez, which currently stands at £290,000-a-week. Speaking after his side’s defeat to Bournemouth, Wenger reaffirmed that Sanchez is on the brink of leaving Arsenal. ‘It will be decided in the next 48 hours,’ said the Frenchman. ‘It was difficult for him because he was on standby a little bit.’
